COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland softball team will head to Tallahassee, Fla. this weekend for a three-game series vs. Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Florida State.

The Terps (30-13, 6-4 ACC) and the Seminoles (25-21, 7-7 ACC) will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and a single game Sunday at noon. Gametracker live stats will be available.

Maryland is currently tied for second in the ACC, along with North Carolina. The Terrapins have won seven of their last eight games, after taking two wins from Binghamton Tuesday night.

The Terrapins last won a series against the Seminoles in 2008 when they took two of three in College Park. Last year, they beat Florida State 6-2 in game three of the series in College Park, but fell to the Seminoles in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

Junior Vangie Galindo is leading the Terps with her batting average of .414, which is second in the league. Bree Hanafin is fourth in the ACC with her .384 clip. Both are in the top ten of the league in hits with 55 and 48. Galindo is in the top ten in stolen bases with 15.

The Terrapin pitching staff of Ashley Czechner, Kerry Hickey and Kendra Knight leads the ACC in strikeouts with 381. The Terps lead the ACC in batters struck out looking with 110. Maryland's pitching unit also leads the league with a 1.70 ERA, which is No. 14 in the country. The Terrapins have given up the fewest hits (185) and fewest runs (90) in the ACC. The Terps' opposing batting average is the best in the league - .176.

Catcher Samantha Mallory leads the league in stolen base runners caught with 15. The Terps' team fielding percentage of .968 is the best in the ACC.

After this weekend's games, the Terrapins will return home to Robert E. Taylor Stadium to play host to Delaware State in a midweek doubleheader on April 27 beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free and Gametracker live stats will be available.
