Eight Terps Nab All-ACC Academic Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland placed eight student-athletes on the 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, announced by the league office Wednesday.
On the men's side, Mitch Challacombe, Matt Meserole, Andrew Relihan and Sean Stewart were tabbed to the list. Challacombe is a three-time honoree and Relihan was one of 16 All-ACC performers named to the squad.
Annie Fittin and Ginny Glover led the women as two of the 17 All-ACC performers on the All-ACC Academic Team. Both swimmers scooped up academic honors for the second time in their career. Victoria Cassidy and Alexa Hamilton were also tabbed to the team.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his/her academic career.
