
Five Terps in Final ITA Rankings

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Five Maryland tennis players were listed in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings which were released Wednesday.
Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar was No. 34 in singles after posting a 17-5 record which included six wins over ranked opponents. The junior reached the round of 32 at the NCAA Singles Championship.
Sanchez-Quintanar and freshman Jordaan Sanford ended the year No. 26 in doubles. The duo was 18-5 and reached the NCAA Doubles Championship.
The Maryland women ended the season at No. 34 in the national team rankings.
Maros Horny helped key the men's team run to the second round of the NCAA Championship and a final ranking of No. 39.
Horny had 16 singles wins on the season and played a team-high 15 ranked opponents. The junior ended the year No. 106 in singles.
After posting a 7-3 record, including a pair of wins over ranked foes, Horny and sophomore John Collins were tied for No. 41 nationally in doubles.
Horny also teamed with freshman Jan Surovic during the season and that duo was No. 90 in doubles.
