
Terps Head South for VCU Shootout

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's golf team continues its 2011 fall schedule Monday at the VCU Shootout at Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, Va. The Terps participated in the event in 2009 and finished 13th.
The Terrapins opened the fall campaign at the Maryland Intercollegiate hosted by River Marsh Golf Club two weeks ago. Maryland carded a three-round total of 855 to finish sixth.
Individually, sophomore Sean Bosdosh led the Terps. The Clarksburg native carded a 5-under 208, including two 3-under rounds, to finish sixth.
Senior Sean Brannan fired a 1-over 214 to tie for 19th and freshman Ben Warnquist, playing in his first collegiate tournament, shot a 2-over 215 to tie for 24th to round out the team participants.
Freshman Jordan Sweet, playing as an individual, tied for 12th after carding a 2-under 211.
Other teams competing in the VCU Shootout include: Charlotte, East Carolina, Iowa State, James Madison, North Carolina, Richmond, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Old Dominion, VCU, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and Wichita State.
The tournament features two rounds of play Monday with the final round played Tuesday. The first round begins with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start. Maryland will play with James Madison and Old Dominion.
Hermitage Country Club is a 6,955-yard, par-72 course. Live stats will be available via GolfStat.
