PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Maryland women's tennis team completed play at the Cissie Leary Invitational Sunday with the doubles team of senior Jordan Hansbrough and junior Ana Belzunce reaching the semifinals. Hansbrough and Belzunce finished fourth.

In the round of 16, the duo dispatched of Delaware's Samantha Carnall and Christina Harrington, 8-1, and advanced to face Penn State's Fernanda Perrotta and Chelsea Utting in the quarterfinals. Hansbrough and Belzunce defeated the Penn State pairing 9-7.

The team of Petra Januskova and Nina Sertic of Penn State, the draws' top seed, ended Hansbrough and Belzunce `s run in the tournament handing the Terps' pairing an 8-1 defeat. Hansbrough and Belzunce lost the third-place match, 8-3, to the tournament's second seed, Columbia's Nicole Bartnick and Bianca Sanon.

In singles action, after losing her opening round match, Hansbrough defeated Drexel's Mel Reyes and Temple's Ama Osei in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. In the third round, the senior won over Penn State's Marie Bedard. Hansbrough would fall in the consolation quarterfinals.

After receiving a bye in the opening round, Belzunce advanced to the round of 16 with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-0 victory over Columbia's Renata Arshavskaya. Belzunce completed singles competition after losing to Columbia's Crystal Leung, 6-1, 6-7(3), 10-3.
