COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland swimming and diving team heads back on the road Friday for a two-day quadrangular at Pittsburgh.
The Terps will face the host Panthers, Richmond and Villanova at Trees Pool. Friday's action kicks off at 4 p.m. with Saturday's events beginning at 9 a.m.
The men's squad continues to be led by sophomore John Hauser. Hauser earned his second Atlantic Coast Conference Performer of the Week nod Tuesday. He captured three individual events (50 and 100 free and 200 IM) and also guided the 200 medley relay to a win versus Towson. Maryland picked up its second straight dual meet victory, sandwiching its Terp Cup title.
On the women's side, Maryland boasts a stellar 4-1 dual meet record heading into this weekend. The Terps picked up multiple wins from mainstays Megan Lafferty in the 50 free (23.88) and 100 fly (55.98) and Ginny Glover in the 200 free (1:53.55) and 200 back (2:05.02) to drop an undefeated Towson unit last weekend.
Pittsburgh is an even 3-3 overall on the men's side while the women have a 2-4 mark. The men's team defeated West Virginia for the first time since the 2008-09 season its last time out. Villanova's women's unit is 4-2 overall while its men's squad is 2-3. Richmond's women's team is 2-4 overall and took fifth at the Terp Cup in November.
Maryland returns home for a dual meet against West Virginia Saturday, Jan. 21.
