Terps Ready for Annual Pink Meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland gymnastics team welcomes EAGL-rivals Rutgers and No. 22 West Virginia, and William and Mary to the Comcast Center for its annual Pink Meet set for Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

Breast Cancer Awareness
To raise money and awareness for breast cancer research, the team will be decked out in pink, all fans are encouraged to come out, wear pink and support the Terps and this great cause.

Breast cancer survivors will be in attendance and will be honored prior to the presentation of awards at the conclusion of the meet.

Maryland
Nationally, the Terps rank 31st with an average of 193.713, and are 26th on vault with a 48.738. The squad's team total is fourth in the league behind No. 19 NC State (194.833), No. 22 West Virginia (194.500) and New Hampshire (193.896).

Sophomore Katy Dodds and junior Ally Krikorian rank one and two, respectively, in the EAGL on vault. Dodds ranks 10th on floor (9.767) while Krikorian is seventh in the all-around (38.700).

Last Time Out
The Terps (6-5, 2-2 EAGL) scored a season-high 48.950 on vault in a dual against North Carolina in Chapel Hill Friday, Feb. 10. The Tar Heels won the meet by a 195.225 - 192.700 margin.

The Terps had two of the top three placers on vault. Krikorian won the event with a 9.900 and Dodds tied for second with a 9.850, while junior Briana Melander scored a career-high 9.825 on beam to finish in a tie for second.

Series History
Maryland and Rutgers have met 40 times with the Terps winning 34 of those meetings including eight straight against the Scarlet Knights.

The Mountaineers are 41-18-1 against the Terps and have won four of the past five matchups.

The Terps and Tribe have met three times in the last two seasons with Maryland winning all three of those matchups. All-time, Maryland is 25-9 against William and Mary.

Rutgers

Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-5, 0-4 EAGL)

The Scarlet Knights scored 192.375 en route to a tri-meet victory over Brown and Cortland State last weekend in Piscataway.

Rutgers average 191.667 per meet which ranks seventh in the EAGL. Through six meets, the Scarlet Knights' strongest event is floor. The squad averages 48.371 which is seventh-best in the league.

Luisa Leal ranks in the top three in the conference on vault and bars and averages the fifth-highest score in the all-around (38.925).


West Virginia

No. 22 West Virginia Mountaineers (7-3, 3-0 EAGL)
Roster Schedule Statistics

In a tri-meet against No. 11 Ohio State and No. 17 Auburn, the 22nd-ranked Mountaineers scored 195.175 to finish second behind the Buckeyes (195.450) Sunday in Morgantown.

West Virginia is ranked in the top-25 nationally on vault, beam and floor led by the squad's 48.883 average on vault.

Hope Sloanhoffer is top-10 in the league in all four events and leads the EAGL with a 39.117 all-around average.


William and Mary

William and Mary Tribe (1-13, 1-3 ECAC)
Roster Schedule Statistics

William and Mary participated in the Sweetheart Invitational against George Washington, No. 19 NC State and No. 10 Penn State in Raleigh Saturday and placed fourth with a 191.375, which was its second-highest total of the season.

The Tribe average 189.270 per meet which ranks sixth in the ECAC. The squad's strongest event is vault. The Tribe average 47.910 on the apparatus.

In the ECAC, Kristin Milardo ranks eighth in the all-around (38.140) and is tied for ninth on vault (9.700).
