
Glover Paces Terps on Day Three of ACCs

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - Ginny Glover led the Terps with a pair of fourth place individual finishes on day three of the 2012 ACC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships Friday.
Glover took fourth in the 200 free (1:47.38) and 100 back (53.63) to pace the Terps. She also swam leadoff on the third place 400 medley relay, combining with Alexa Hamilton, Megan Lafferty and Carolyn Fittin (3:36.15).
Lafferty took second in the 100 fly (52.68), followed by Carolyn Fittin in ninth (54.11), Addison Koelle in 14th (54.66), Jennifer Roberts in 15th (54.73) and Meggie Schmidt in 24th (56.91).
Victoria Cassidy led the Terps in the 400 IM with a seventh place showing (4:16.81) and Kacie Ciampoli also added points with a 15th place finish (4:23.34).
Erin Stout was 24th in the 200 free (1:53.10). Katie Hughes (23rd - 55.76) and Elena Donald (24th - 56.26) followed Glover in the 100 back.
The Terps took fourth, fifth and ninth in the 100 breast as Amy Halligan (1:01.74), Hamilton (1:01.83) and Laura Flewelling (1:02.54) garnered points for Maryland, respectively.
Maryland moved into fourth place in the team standings after day three of the championships. The Terps are 29 points behind third place Florida State.
