MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -
Eleven members of the Maryland gymnastics team were named to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Academic Team the league announced Monday.
The Terps' academic honorees are led by senior Becca Pang, who is a four-time recipient, and junior Kesley Cofsky, who is a three-time honoree.
Junior Briana Melander and sophomores Jessie Black, Katy Dodds, Elizabethe Manzi and Karen Tang were named to the team for a second time.
In their first season at Maryland, freshmen Elizabeth Garcia, Stephanie Giameo, Dani Kram and Shannon Skochko were honored for their success in the classroom.
In total, 99 student-athletes were named to the EAGL All-Academic Team. To see the complete list of honorees, click here.
In order to be named to the EAGL all-Academic team, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Freshmen are eligible if they earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.
Awards will be presented to the honorees at the 2012 EAGL Championship Banquet this Friday, March 23, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Pittsburgh will host the EAGL Championships Saturday, March 24 at 2 p.m.
