Tipping Off: Maryland dropped to 16-14, including 6-10 in the ACC, while Virginia improved to 22-8, including 9-7 in the league with the win... The Terps will be the No. 8 seed in this week's ACC Tournament... Virginia moved into a tie for fifth with Miami, but earned the 4th seed in the tournament ... the Cavaliers won for the second consecutive season at Comcast.
Senior Day: Sean Mosley, Berend Weijs and Jon Dillard, who played in their last home game, were honored in a ceremony prior to tipoff. Mosley is the only Terrapin to start all 30 games this season. He is one of eight Terrapins to post at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists and 120 steals in a career. Weijs made his seventh career start today. He has played in 53 games during his two seasons in College Park. Dillard, a walk-on, played in five games this season.
Doubling Up: Sean Mosley posted his second career double-double with 17 points and a season-high tying 10 rebounds. Mosley's only other double-double (13 points/10 assists) occurred against New Hampshire on 11/20/09.
All-Around Solid Game: Sean Mosley was on pace to lead the team in scoring, rebounding and assists for most of the game. Mosley had 17 points (Terrell Stoglin had a team-high 25 points) as well as team highs in rebounds (10) and assists (4). Jordan Williams was the last player to lead the Terps in all three categories. Williams had 16 points, 13 rebounds and three assists (tied for team lead) against NC State in the 2011 ACC Tournament (3/10).
Stoglin Moves Up List: Terrell Stoglin knocked down 4 3-pointers in the game and has now made 82 on the year, which ranks third on Maryland's all-time single-season list. He passed Mike Jones who had 81 in 2006-07. Stoglin (25 points) also totaled more than 20 points for the 20th time this season. Maryland is 13-7 in games he reaches that plateau.
First-Half Notes: Maryland had just four turnovers ... the Terps were 0-for-6 from the free-throw line ... Mosley had eight points, three rebounds and one assist ... Virginia led by as many as 11 points, while Maryland had the lead just once (4-3 at 18:42 mark).
Second-Half Notes: After missing all six attempts in the first half, the Terps connected on 9 of 13 free throws in the second half ... Sean Mosley had seven of his team-high 10 rebounds and played all 20 minutes ... the Terps out-rebounded the Cavaliers, 19-12.
Tidbits: Maryland used a starting lineup of Terrell Stoglin, Nick Faust, Sean Mosley, Berend Weijs and James Padgett for the fifth time this season .... the Terps are now 3-2 with the starting lineup ... Terps held their own on the glass against a team which leads the ACC in defensive rebounding. Maryland out-rebounded the Cavaliers, 39-36 ... Mike Scott's career-high 35 points for Virginia were the most by a Maryland opponent this season. North Carolina's Tyler Zeller had 30 points on 2/29.
