COLLEGE PARK, Md. - While the Terps did lose a large chunk of their scoring with the graduation and subsequent drafting of Casey Townsend by Chivas USA, Maryland appears reloaded for the 2012 season.

"I really like this team," head coach Sasho Cirovski said. "This is going to be a very possession-oriented, very attractive-playing team."

Patrick Mullins is set to carry the majority of the scoring load in 2012. The forward from New Orleans, La., was named a captain in the offseason after nabbing second team All-ACC honors as a sophomore. He tallied a career-high six goals in 2012 in his first season as a full-time starter.

"I think Patrick got off to a flying start last year and we are looking for him to take over quite a bit of the load left by Casey," Cirovski said. "He is no doubt capable of doing so."

Watch for Sunny Jane to also make additional scoring waves this season. The electrifying junior from Prospect, Ky., tallied a team-high eight assists last season while starting in 20 games for the Terps.

"Sunny is capable of producing more goals and assists for us as well," Cirovski said. Other key returners who will be called upon to pitch in offensively up-top also include Jake Pace, Jordan Cyrus and Alex Shinsky.

Pace, who put together an impressive spring campaign, racked up a career-high two goals and one assist after completing a successful move from defender to forward in 2011. Cyrus bounced back from a redshirt season in 2010 to tally three assists and one goal for Maryland last year. Shinsky will likely fill in as a wing forward and looks to be fully healthy for the first time since arriving on campus a year ago.

Newcomers Schillo Tshuma, Christiano Francois and David Kabelik will also see action at the forward position. Fellow freshmen Ryan Reid and Donovan Fraser will additionally compete for playing time up front.
