COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Following a weekend series at ACC-rival Virginia, Maryland (10-5, 1-2 ACC) returns home for a doubleheader Tuesday against Marist at noon.
The Terps are looking to extend their unbeaten streak at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium. Maryland is 8-0 in the friendly confines.
Maryland will turn to left-hander Jake Drossner in game one of the doubleheader. Drossner has made three appearances and one start this season for the Terps, starting at James Madison on Feb. 27. The freshman went four innings giving up three runs on four hits and struck out two.
Maryland's starter for the second game of the doubleheader is TBA. Marist has yet to determine its pitching matchups.
Over the weekend in Charlottesville, several Terps continued to swing the bat well, but maybe none more so than LaMonte Wade and Charlie White. Wade finished with four hits, including his second triple of the season, and four RBI. Over the last four games, Wade's batting average has increased from .206 to .277 and the freshman has reached base safely in 14 straight games.
Charlie White went 4-for-12 with three runs, three stolen bases and one RBI. He leads the Terps with eight multi-hit games and has also reached base safely in 14 straight contests. White's 18 stolen bases lead the ACC and his .408 BA is tied for sixth in the conference.
