D.J. Butler Bio

D.J. Butler is back for his second year as a volunteer assistant coach the women's team. Tennis is life for the Silver Spring, Md. native, who is also a certified tennis professional with the United States Tennis Professional Association (USTPA). Butler has been coaching for over eight years along with working with local sectional and nationally ranked players.

After attending Maryland, Butler began working at the Tennis Center at College Park after its grand opening in the spring of 2001. During his time there in addition to giving lessons, he has worked with the Junior Tennis Champions, which is a non-profit organization which trains young student athletes to be tennis professionals. While at Maryland he helped organize free tennis programs for underprivileged kids throughout the community, as well as help out with a tennis 1-2-3 program.

Butlers' career aspirations include becoming a head tennis coach at the college level.
