On Stuart: The “workhorse” of the Terps' rotation, according to Rupp … a powerful right-hander with an excellent fastball and slider … extremely tough to hit when throwing strikes … experience should pay off as a senior.

As a Junior (2002): Became one of team's most reliable starters , tying for the club lead with 13 starts … 5-3 record was a personal best … lowered his ERA by nearly a full run from the 2001 season … 67.0 innings pitched were the most of anyone on the staff … set a new career-high with 67 strikeouts …threw five innings and allowed no earned runs to notch his first win of the year over College of Charleston (Feb. 23) …struck out a career and team season-high 11 and surrendered only one run on four hits through 5.1 innings to get the win over Pace (March 1) … allowed no runs on two hits and fanned four over five innings to record the victory over Vermont (March 8) … in 5.2 innings of work, held UMBC to two hits while striking out six en route to his third win of the season (March 21) … went a season-high 7.0 innings and allowed three runs while fanning five for his first conference victory of the season (April 6) … had a strong showing vs. nationally-ranked Georgia Tech, striking out five and allowing only two runs on four hits in six innings of work (April 13) … in 6.1 innings on the hill vs. Duke, limited the Blue Devils to three runs on six hits while fanning four to notch the victory (April 26).

As a Sophomore (2001): Performed well in his first year as a starter ... assumed the role as the Terps' No. 1 starter after several impressive early-season outings ... led the Terps in innings pitched with 77.0 ... had the lowest ERA of any starter on the staff ... pitched well in his first start of the year, February 10 at Elon ... in just his third career start, he tossed 5.1 innings and allowed just three runs on three hits and struck out two ... turned in one of his finest pitching performances of his young career February 16 at The Citadel ... was dominant in limiting the Bulldogs to just two runs on six hits while striking out six in 7.0 innings of work ... recorded his first victory of the season March 2 at Howard by holding the Bison to no runs on one hit while fanning five in 6.0 innings ... lasted 7.0 innings with three strikeouts and allowed just three earned runs on five hits at Virginia Commonwealth March 9 ... tossed a career-high 7.2 innings April 14 at NC State to earn his first ACC victory ... pitched 7.0 innings and struck out a career-high seven batters April 20 at Virginia ... earned his third win of the year May 1 vs. UMBC by pitching three scoreless innings of relief.

As a Freshman (2000): Pitched a scoreless ninth inning against Old Dominion on Feb. 12, striking out one batter and not allowing a hit ... pitched 1.1 scoreless innings against George Washington on March 14 ... pitched a then career-high 2.2 innings and struck out a then career-high five batters in the second game of a doubleheader against Florida A&M on March 21 ... got his first career win against Richmond on March 29 as he pitched two scoreless innings and struck out three batters ... got the win in the second game of a doubleheader against UMES on April 19 ... pitched a career-high 5.0 innings and got the win against Towson on April 26 ... got his first career save by pitching the last 1.2 innings against Duke on May 13.

At Corning: Named all-league his senior year … struck out 100 batters in 54 innings his senior season … pitched a no-hitter and struck out the final batter of the game … also played football at the tight end and defensive end positions … was the team captain of both the football and baseball teams his senior year.

Personal: Born Sept. 27, 1980 … parents are Margo and Dean Stuart … majoring in criminal justice.
