On Ward: One of the top three returning point scorers for the Terps, Ward narrowly missed the NCAA championships last year in the 100-yard breastsroke and looks to qualify for the field this year while having a strong senior campaign … also returns with the top team times in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM.

1998-99 season: Hit the wall in fourth place in both the 100- (55.38) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.04) at the 1999 ACC Championships … also scored points for the Terps in the 200-yard IM (1:53.05) with his 13th-place finish … joined Aaron Peterson, Adam Childs and Drew Childs to set school records for the 200- and 400-yard medley relays at the 1999 ACC Championships … finished with the top team times in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM … Ward finished first in six meets in the 200-yard breaststroke, while collecting Academic All-American honors for the third straight year … also took first five times in the 100-yard breaststroke.

1997-98 season: Finished fifth on the team in scoring with 138.40 points … placed seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.18) and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.05) at the ACC Championships … met the Senior National qualifying time at the ACC meet in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke … won six individual events … posted the top men's team time in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.05), the second-fastest time in the 200-yard IM (1:53.42) and the third-fastest time in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.18) and the 400-yard IM (4:10.48) … named an NCAA honorable mention Academic All-American … named to the ACC Honor Roll.

1996-97 season: Scored 53.75 points in the first five meets before suffering a season-ending leg injury … named to the ACC Honor Roll.

Before Maryland: A Junior National qualifier in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM.
