Mike Tober is in his third season as diving coach for both the men's and women's teams at Maryland. Tober returns to College Park after a 10-year hiatus; he coached the Terrapin divers from 1982-93. During that time, he was also the head coach of the Montgomery Dive Club.

Tober joined the University of Miami in1993, and served as assistant diving coach there for three years. He most recently served as the diving coach for four years at Indian River Community College in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

Tober was a USA National Team Coach in 1995-96 and PDCA All-America Coach from 1990-92. He was named NJCAA Diving Coach of the Year in 1999-00 while at Indian River.

A diver at N.C. State, Tober was a five-time ACC champion, an NCAA All-American and a member of the USA National Dive Team. He also was a gold-medalist on the 3-meter and 10-meter platform at the Maccabiah Games.

Tober graduated from N.C. State in 1978 with a degree in communications.
