On Rubin: Returns for his sophomore season...should add depth in the breaststroke and IM events.
As a Freshman (2001-02): Presented a solid performance at the ACC Championships...placed 19th in the 200-yard breast (2:06.96) in a career best time...also swam the 200-yard IM (1:55.45)...competed in his first collegiate meet against Florida State, taking home third in both the 200-yard IM (1:55.67) and the 200-yard breast (2:09.40)...had an exceptional meet against Duke, winning the 200-yard IM (1:56.79) in only his second collegiate meet...also swam on the winning 400-yard medley relay (3:29.18)...continued his success against Howard and Johns Hopkins, winning the 400-yard IM (4:11.73)...placed third in the 200-yard breast (2:10.80) at Ohio State...achieved a career best time in the 400-yard IM (4:09.19), placing fourth in the Terrapin Cup Invitational...swam another outstanding meet vs. Pittsburgh and Villanova, winning the 200-yard breast (2:09.81) and taking second in the 200-yard IM (1:57.48) and third in the 400-yard IM (4:10.68)...finished the season with a second place finish in the 400-yard IM (4:14.83) against North Carolina and came in fifth in the 200-yard IM (1:59.61) against Virginia.
Before Maryland: Five-time team MVP at Bethpage High School ... captained the swim team for three seasons ... conference swimmer of the year selection three times ... school record holder in the 200 IM ... won various awards including all-division, all-county, all-conference and all-Long Island honors.
Personal: Born May 3, 1983 ... son of Marjorie and Stuart Rubin ... a computer science major.
