State (1:51.47) ... won the 200 back against Clemson and Virginia Tech (1:49.27) ... was victorious in the 100 back at Villanova (53.00) ... won the 200 back at the Terrapin Cup Invitational (1:49.35) ... won the 200 back against Pittsburgh (1:46.58) ... was victorious in the 100 back (51.88) and finished third in the 50 free (21.93) at Duke ... won the 200 back against North Carolina and Georgia Tech (1:47.06) ... placed second in the 200 back at Virginia (1:48.82) ... finished 21st in the 50 free at ACC's (20.96).
As a Freshman (2001-02): Turned in an amazing freshman season...was a valuable point scorer in each meet...finaled in each of his events except one at the ACC Championships, placing fifth in the 100-yard back (49.85), sixth in the 200-yard back (1:46.92), and was a part of the seventh place 200-yard free relay (1:23.17), the fifth place 400-yard medley relay (3:19.11), the sixth place 400-yard free relay (3:03.48), and the fourth place 200-yard medley relay (1:31.26)...began his collegiate career with two second place finishes at NC State in the 200-yard back (1:54.62) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:30.45)...won both of his events the next day against Duke in the 400-yard medley relay (3:29.18) and 200-yard back (1:50.29)...swept two events again vs. Ohio State and Virginia Tech, taking first in the 200-yard back (1:50.51) and the 400-yard back (50.78)...finished the season with great performances vs. North Carolina, winning the 200-yard back (1:48.90), and against Virginia, winning the 100-yard back (50.17).
Before Maryland: Earned four letters in swimming at McDonogh ... two-time state champion in the 100-back and the 200-IM ... garnered All-America honors in the 100-back and received honorable mention All-American honors in the 200-IM ... three-time Junior National competitor ... holds two school records in the 100-back and the 200-IM.
Personal: Is the son of Cheryl and Roger Weinberg ... a finance and accounting major ... was recruited by Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech ... comes from an athletic family as his sister is a swimmer at UNC-Wilmington, his father swam at Syracuse and his aunt Wendy Weinberg was a member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic swimming team.
