He is very gifted on the court and is currently working on his transition game, coming into the net. He is expected to play high in the singles and doubles and will compete for the top position in both.”
Fall 2002:Semifinalist in Flight A in the DC Metro Championships … saw action in two tournaments for the Terps and competed for the top spot … came away with a victory in the prestigious Tom Fallon Invitational.
2002: The Terps most athletic player ... tied for the tem lead with 10 singles victories in his first spring season ... partnered with Jon Murchison to record an 8-6 record in doubles competition at the No. 1 spot ... ranked 50th in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings in doubles during the season ... named to All-ACC team … became the first Maryland men's player to garner All-ACC honors since Danny Cantwell in 1992 ... tied Chris Chiu and David Reichsfeld for a team-high five match win streak in singles ... recorded a perfect 8-0 record against non-conference opponents ... record overall for the year was 21-7 with an 11-1 mark in the fall … member of the team that was awarded the 2002 President's Cup for having the highest team GPA.
Fall 2001: Emerged as a star in three tournaments this fall, taking two Flight A titles … won the Flight A title at West Virginia Fall Classic, winning three matches … took the Flight A crown at the NC State Fall Invitational four matches, three of which in straight sets … won five doubles matches in the fall, teaming up with various different teammates.
Before Maryland: Attended Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md. … finished #1 in the Mid Atlantic Section of Juniors 18 and under as well as men's open categories … represented Bosnia's national tennis team.
Personal: Haris Causevic … son of Mirsad and Mejra Causevic …brother of Emina (8) and Delila Causevic (21) who plays on the University of Maryland women's tennis team … enjoys tennis, reading, music, skiing and running … lists his favorite athlete as Muhammad Ali … chose Maryland because it offers the best education in the United States in the Computer Science field … majoring in Computer Science.
