
Round 2 Suspended, Terps Sit in Second at Woodmont

ROCKVILLE, Md. – The Maryland men's golf team is currently in second after round one at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational at the Woodmont Country Club. Round two was suspended due to weather Monday afternoon and will resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The third and final round will be played immediately following.
As a team, the Terrapins picked up a score of 290, which was two-over par. They trail Loyola (Md.) by three strokes.
After the first round, senior Connor Tendall is second on the leaderboard with his three-under score of 69. Freshman David Kocher and senior Ben Warnquist are tied for 12th with their scores of 73, which are one stroke over.
Junior Tom Harris is also in the top 25 on the leaderboard with his score of 75. Sophomore Victor Fox went six-over in round one with a score of 78.
Competing as individuals, freshman Jack Fitzgerald shot an 82 and senior Eric Urda shot an 85.
The Terrapins are hosting 11 other teams in the 54-hole tournament. Boston College, Bethune-Cookman, Elon, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Loyola (Md.), North Dakota State, Rutgers, Air Force and Navy are all competing.
The Maryland Terrapin Invitational is being played on Woodmont's North Course, which is a par-72 that covers 7,250 yards.
