
Kocher Pushes Terps into Lead After Round 2

ROCKVILLE, Md. – Freshman David Kocher of the Maryland men's golf team went four-under par with a 68 in the second round of the Maryland Terrapin Invitational Tuesday morning to help put the Terrapins in the lead as a team. Round three will be finished Tuesday.
Kocher is currently in first on the 75-player leaderboard. As a team, the Terps shaved six strokes off of their first round score of 290 and are currently two-under par overall.
Junior Tom Harris took four strokes off of his first-round score of 75 to go one-under with a score of 71 in the second round. He is tied for 11th on the leaderboard with seniors Connor Tendall and Ben Warnquist.
Warnquist shot a 73 in the second round on the par-72 course, which matched his first-round score. Tendall shot a 77 in the second round.
Sophomore Victor Fox parred the second round, taking six strokes off of his first round score of 78. He currently sits in the top 30.
Freshman Jack Fitzgerald and senior Eric Urda, who are competing as individuals, both improved from their first-round scores. Fitzgerald shot a 73 in the second round, which was nine strokes better than his first round score. Urda shot a 77 in the second round, which was an eight-stroke improvement.
The Terrapins are hosting 11 other teams in the 54-hole tournament. Boston College, Bethune-Cookman, Elon, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Loyola (Md.), North Dakota State, Rutgers, Air Force and Navy will all be competing.
The Maryland Terrapin Invitational is on Woodmont's North Course, which is a par-72 that covers 7,250 yards.
