COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- More than $700 was raised for the Vs. Cancer Foundation Sunday in Comcast Pavilion at the 2nd Annual Student-Athlete and Staff Volleyball Tournament.
Organized by senior volleyball player Mary Cushman, the event handed all proceeds directly to the Vs. Cancer Foundation which helps kids with cancer.
"The tournament provides a great opportunity to bring the Maryland athletic family together for a special cause," Cushman said. "It is pretty awesome to organize an event around volleyball and know that each participant helped make a difference and raise money for cancer."
A total of 14 teams competed in the tournament, which raised $771 for the Vs. Cancer Foundation.
