Wiley to Participate in Goodwill Tour Overseas

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's basketball freshman Dion Wiley is set to participate in the Global Sports Academy's 2014 Men's Basketball Goodwill Tour. The trip will include stops in Belgium, Germany and England, and runs from Aug. 13-21. Click here for the tour's full itinerary.

The team, coached by Siena College assistant coach Greg Manning Jr., will play a total of five games over nine days. The roster includes two Siena players as well student-athletes from Brown, Mount St. Mary's, NC State, St. Bonaventure and West Chester.

Manning works under former Maryland assistant coach Jimmy Patsos at Siena. His father, Greg Manning Sr., was a four-year player for the Terps from 1977-81 and was an All-ACC Academic team three times as well as a member of the 1000-point club.

Global Sports Academy is a non-profit organization that puts together athletic competitions between equally matched teams at all level. The group was established in 1991 and has grown to support 12 different sports in 25 different countries. Their major goal is “Education, Good Will and Sportsmanship through Sports.”

Wiley will suit up for the Terrapins this season as part of a decorated freshmen class that also includes Melo Trimble, Michal Cekovsky and Jared Nickens. Rated 52nd in the nation by ESPN.com, Wiley averaged 17.6 points as a senior at Potomac High School.
