Solomon Eye Terp of the Week: Chioma Onyekwere

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – For the early part of the track and field season, Maryland's field competitors have set the pace.

That was no different at the Tiger Open where Chioma Onyekwere tossed a lifetime best of 18.67m in the weight throw to finish second in the event. She also placed second in the shot put with a mark of 15.05. For her efforts, the junior has been named Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week.

Onyekwere's weight throw mark placed her fourth on Maryland all-time list. The Fairfax, Va., native finished second in the weight throw at the Terrapin Invitational and won the shot put.

She will try to continue her success at the Armory Invitational Meet in New York this weekend.
