Ken Rosenthal Headlines 2015 Leadoff Banquet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Major League Baseball on FOX reporter and senior baseball writer and MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2015 Maryland Baseball Leadoff Banquet to be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Riggs Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Maryland.
The price of a ticket is $100 for Home Run Club members and former players, and $125 for the general public. Attendees can purchase Coach's Tables, which seat eight and include one member of the Maryland coaching staff for $1,250. The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a live and silent auction, dinner, a meet and greet with the 2015 Terps, and an address from Rosenthal. Rosenthal has served as the lead field reporter for FOX's coverage of Major League Baseball since 2005 and an insider on MLB Network since the launch of the network in 2009. Rosenthal has worked the last eight All-Star Games and World Series, and is a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
The New York native made a name for himself at the Baltimore Sun as a baseball writer and columnist from 1987 to 2000. During his time with the Baltimore Sun, Rosenthal won Maryland Sportswriter of the Year five times. Rosenthal was also a regular contributor to Sports Illustrated from 1990 to 2000, serving as one of 12 national writers providing weekly notes during baseball season.
Rosenthal also spent five years as senior baseball writer at The Sporting News, writing a weekly column for the magazine, as well as breaking news and writing features for its web site.
Rosenthal is a contributor to Fox Sports Radio, and had a 14-year run as a radio personality in Baltimore on WJFK-AM and WBAL-AM.
Maryland opens its 2015 campaign Feb. 13 at the Caravelle Resort Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Terps will play four games in three days against Western Kentucky, Canisius, Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina.
