After Strong Start, Terps Fall at #1 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Perry Hills set a new program quarterback record with 170 rushing yards but the Maryland football team fell, 49-28, to No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday.
Hills rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another one, a 52-yard pass to D.J. Moore in the first quarter. The junior finished the afternoon with 133 passing yards.
The game swung in the Terrapins' favor when Ohio State missed a 44-yard field goal with 1:12 remaining in the first half. On the first play from scrimmage, Hills broke loose for a 75-yard scamper through the heart of the Buckeye defense. Hills then finished the drive with a 3-yard rush into the endzone to draw the Terps within a touchdown, 21-14, heading into halftime.
The Terps carried their momentum into the second half, capping off a 9-play, 69-yard drive with a 4-yard Hill touchdown rush to tie the game, 21-21.
The starpower of the Buckeyes (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) and running back Ezekiel Elliott (2 TD's) proved too much for the Terrapins (2-4, 0-2) as they shook free in the second half and extended their nation's best winning streak to 19. Ohio State has won 26 straight regular-season conference games.
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer juggled his quarterbacks, using Jones to start drives and Barrett to finish them. Jones threw a 19-yard TD pass to Braxton Miller and connected on a 48-yarder to Jalin Marshall.
Trailing, 49-21, late in the game, Maryland used six plays and a 1-yard Wes Brown touchdown run to finish the scoring.
