Meet the Terp: Kristina Dillard

The Maryland Softball Program welcomed five newcomers to the 2015-2016 squad. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be profiling each of them in our "Meet the Terp" series.
Kristina Dillard is a returning home after spending her first two collegiate seasons as a member of the University of Louisville softball team. The Hanover, Maryland native appeared in 29 games last year for the Cardinals. At Broadneck High School she was named the 2013 Capital Gazette Softball Player of the Year playing a mix of catcher and shortstop. Time to meet Kristina Dillard...
How has your first semester at Maryland been so far?
I swear I am dreaming. My first semester has been more than amazing! The team and coaching staffing have been nothing but great! I am extremely happy and right where I am supposed to be.
What attracted you to the University of Maryland?
UMD is extremely well-rounded. The campus is beautiful, the academics are top-notch, and the athletics have a ton of support. I was always connected to Maryland because of my sister. Her love for the school definitely made me curious about Maryland Pride, so I had to find out!
What is your favorite memory from playing softball?
My current favorite memory from playing softball is making it onto Sportscenter.
How has it been getting to know your teamates?
Fairly easy! I do my best to get to know everyone personally. Knowing the people you play with on the field is crucial. They have been extremely welcoming and have made me happy to be a part of the team.
Are you a good cook, what's your favorite thing to make?
I'd call myself an aspiring cook and baker. My pancakes are first-class, especially the banana and chocolate chip. Ask around. My homemade cookies are to die-for too.
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I strive to be an energy-giver. I work to bring a positive attitude everywhere I go and have it rub off on the people beside me. You never know who could use a boost!
What is the best vacation you have ever been on?
Last year, I went to London, Amsterdam, and Paris with my brother and sister.

Favorite Food: Everything my mom makes
