
Terps Lead at Firestone Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - The Maryland men's golf team leads the 16-team field after the first two rounds at the Firestone Invitational at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
As a team, the Terrapins are -7 after the first 36 holes with their combined score of 569 (284-285). Sophomore David Kocher leads the individual field of 91 with his score of 136 (68-68), which is -8 overall.
Senior Tom Harris is tied for seventh overall with a 141 (67-74), which is three-under. Sophomore Joe Brooks is tied for 20th and went even in the first two rounds with his score of 144 (73-71).
Freshmen Timothy Colanta and Justin Feldman each shot a 150, which was +6 after the first 36 holes.
Tuesday's final round is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. with split tee times on holes 1 & 10. The tournament will be played on the North Course at the Firestone Country Club, which is a par-72 that covers 7,125 yards.
The 16-team field includes: tournament-host Akron, Ball State, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Francis Marion, Georgetown, Illinois State, Ohio, Old Dominion, South Carolina-Aiken, Toledo, Valparaiso, Western Kentucky, William & Mary, and Xavier — Oklahoma State (two individuals).
