The Maryland Softball Program welcomed five newcomers to the 2015-2016 squad. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be profiling each of them in our "Meet the Terp" series.

Andi Jarvis is a freshman catcher that hails from Tustin, California. Andi is one of two Jarvis' to arrive in College Park this fall, her twin sister Ari will be a pitcher for the Terps. Andi starred at Foothill High School being named 1st Team All-County in 2015. Jarvis has played for some of the top club teams in the country, most recently the So Cal Explosion.

How has your first semester at Maryland been so far?

It's definitely been a new experience for me, and it has been tough to adjust to collegiate student athlete life, but for the most part I think I've done a good job making those adjustments needed.

What attracted you to the University of Maryland?

It's abundance of school spirit and athletic performance expectations, along with the great education that comes along with attending the university.

How has it been getting to know your teamates?

My teammates have been extremely welcoming and easy to get along with.  I love the team.

What is your favorite memory from playing softball?

Playing in several national championships and being able to play with my twin sister.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?

Goldfish

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Going out and being adventurous. I'll do just about anything, unless I'm tired and lazy. In that case, I like to sit in bed and watch Netflix.

What is the best vacation you have ever taken?

Going to cape cod with my family this past summer.  We stayed in a cottage by the beach.
