
Men's Golf Welcomes Two Signees for 2016

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's golf program will welcome two of the top players from the state of Maryland to College Park next year as the class of 2016. Bennett Buch (Sykesville, Md.) and Peter Knade (Easton, Md.) will join the Terrapins next fall.
"We're pleased to announce the signing of Bennett Buch and Peter Knade," head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. "Both players are from our state. Recruiting and signing the best players from our state has been a point of emphasis is our recruiting efforts. Both Peter and Bennett are ultra-competitive - certainly the type of student-athlete we want as a part of our program."

About Buch: Led Marriotts Ridge team to four straight state titles...won the Individual MPSSAA State Champion and set a state record (68-70-138) in 2012...won the AJGA at Cattail Creek in 2014 with rounds of 74-71...Qualified for the 2015 US Junior Amateur Tour in 2015.
Rodenhaver on Buch: "Bennett Buch is a player we are very familiar with. We've been watching him for more than three years. He was an early verbal commit to another institution but he chose reopen his recruitment and we were fortunate to land him. He is a big strong player and is really competitive. Bennett will be in our starting line up early and often."
Buch on Maryland: “I like the location, campus and the golf team. Playing for Jason and being a part of a team competing in the Big Ten is a special opportunity."

About Knade: Helped lead Woodberry Forest to back-to-back state prep titles in 2013 and 2014 and three straight conference titles...earned All-State and All-Prep honors every year...shares the Woodberry Course record with a 64...Ten top-15 finishes in AJGA events including two second place finishes in 2015...William H. White Trophy Winner 2014 and 2015.
Rodenhaver on Knade: "Peter Knade comes to us from Easton, Md. We've been recruiting Peter for three years now. I feel like we built a great relationship with him and his parents. He's an immensely talented player, really tough mentally and is a tremendous competitor. We envision him being an immediate impact player for our team in the fall."
Knade on Maryland: "I'm really excited to be a part of the Maryland family. Coach Rodenhaver and Coach Delmar run a great program and I think it's an ideal environment to succeed both individually and as a team. Also, I love the overall atmosphere of the school and its close proximity to Washington D.C."
