Robert Carter had 20 points as Maryland routed St. Francis 96-55 on Friday night. The Terrapins bounced back from their first loss of the season last Tuesday against No. 9 North Carolina in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Freshman Diamond Stone added 16 points, and Jake Layman scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half. Maryland (7-1) was 31 of 46 from the field (67.4 percent) - the fifth-best single game mark in program history. The Terps have shot at least 50 percent for five consecutive games.

• This will be senior Jake Layman's fourth trip to NYC as a member of the Maryland men's basketball team. Layman scored 13 points and added four rebounds in a loss to UConn in Brooklyn in 2013, posted seven boards in a NIT semifinal loss to Iowa at Madison Square Garden to cap the 2012-13 campaign, and recorded three points and two rebounds as a freshman against Kentucky at Barclays in 2012.

• While at Georgia Tech, Robert Carter posted 11 points and 13 rebounds against Ole Miss and nine points and five boards vs. St. John's in a pair of losses at the Barclays Center Classic in 2013.

Rasheed Sulaimon was 3-1 with Duke in the Big Apple, as the Blue Devils captured the Coaches vs. Classic title a year ago at Barclays with wins over Temple and Stanford. Sulaimon posted five assists in a win over Alabama and eight points in a loss to Arizona in the Preseason NIT at Madison Square Garden in 2013.

• Maryland is 11-6 all-time at Madison Square Garden. The first game was a Maryland win over Boston College, 88-63, on March 11, 1958 in the NCAA East Regional First Round - the first-ever tournament appearance in school history. The last time the Terps visited MSG was a 71-60 loss to Iowa in the NIT semifinals April 2, 2013.
