Solomon Eye Terp of the Week: Hannah Dewey

Each week during the 2014-15 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is sophomore Hannah Dewey of the softball team.

COLLEGE PARK, Md.-- The Maryland softball team started the season on a high note, winning three of five at the Coastal Carolina Kickin' Chicken this past weekend. Sophomore Hannah Dewey shined both in the batter's box and the pitching circle for the Terps.

The Temecula, Calif. native started all five games this past weekend in the Kickin' Chicken Classic and helped propel the Terps (3-2, 0-0 B1G) to three wins. Through the weekend, Dewey hit .667, along with a .778 on base percentage, both leading the Big Ten. She racked up eight hits, one RBI, and three extra-base hits in 12 at-bats with a .917 slugging percentage through five games.

Dewey also dominated from the mound, tossing a complete game, four hit, five-strikeout performance in a 3-1 victory over Coastal Carolina Sunday.  The sophomore has appeared in three games, striking out nine in 12.2 innings for Maryland.

The Terrapins head back to the diamond this upcoming weekend for a five game stint at the FAU 'Strike Out Cancer' tournament.
