
#47 Terps Set For Nittany Lions, Buckeyes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 47 Maryland women's tennis team will host Penn State and No. 22 Ohio State at the Tennis Center at College Park March 21-22.
The Terps (9-5, 2-1) return to action against the Nittany Lions on Saturday and the Buckeyes Sunday. First serve for both matches is set for 11 a.m.
Maryland reenters Big Ten conference play, after a one-week break, with a match against Morgan State. On Monday, the Terps blanked the Bears, 7-0.
On Tuesday, sophomore Alexandra Stanova was named the Big Ten Women's Tennis Athlete of the week. Stanova has defeated opponents at No.1 from No. 13 Michigan, No. 61 Nebraska and Morgan State. Stanova's doubles partner Welma Luus, has won nine out of her last ten singles matches by a total score of 109-49.
In doubles, sister duo Nataliya Bredikhina and Olga Bredikhina hold a three match winning streak with a combined score of 22-8 against opponents from Rutgers, Penn and No. 64 Nebraska.
Scouting Penn State
Penn State (4-9, 1-2) travels to the Tennis Center at College Park after falling to No. 22 Ohio State, 5-2. Nittany Lions pair, Dasha Sapogova and Victoria Kisialeva check in at No. 64 but have fallen in their last six matches. Victoria Kisialeva also plays at No. 2 in singles, has won her last two singles matches against opponents from No. 22 Ohio State, and Memphis.
Scouting Ohio State
Ohio State boasts the No. 24 doubles duo of Gabriella De Santis and Sandy Niehaus, with their last two victories from the No. 1 position against Penn State and Tulane, Grabriella De Santis enters singles play with the Terps coming off wins over opponents from No. 54 Illinois, and No. 24 Northwestern.
