
Kocher Finishes Round Two at NCAA Regionals

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - Freshman David Kocher finished round two of three in the NCAA San Diego Regional at The Farms Golf Club Friday.
Kocher is tied for 34th on the leaderboard through the first 36 holes. He went three-over with a 75 in Thursday's first round, then two-over in Friday's second round. Saturday's third and final round will begin at 11 a.m. ET. For live stats, please click here.
Kocher is competing against 13 other teams and nine other individuals in California. The low five teams and low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Finals May 29-June 3 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
The teams competing in California are Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Virginia, Georgia, East Tennessee State, Mississippi, San Diego, Idaho, St. Mary's College (CA), Wichita State and Eastern Kentucky.
Individual competitors in the region are Cody Blick (San Jose State), Peter Mikalsen (Denver), George Cunningham (Arizona), Antoine Rozner (UMKC), Chad Merzbacher (Tennessee), Matt Green (Kansas State), Connor Campbell (Loyola Marymount), Hayden Shieh (Santa Clara) and Justin De Los Santos (Cal Poly).
Kocher was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team earlier this monrhg and was also awarded a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. Kocher was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team after finishing tied for third in the Big Ten Championship.
The rookie picked up four top-10 finishes and seven in the top 20 in the Terps' 10 tournaments on the year.
