Scott Deifel Accepts Head Coaching Position at Arkansas

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland softball head coach Courtney Scott Deifel has accepted the head coaching position at Arkansas Wednesday. A national search for the head coaching position will commence immediately.

“We appreciate Courtney's commitment and dedication to our program,” said Maryland director of athletics Kevin Anderson. “Our softball program made great strides in its first season in the Big Ten Conference and we wish Courtney the very best.”

Scott Deifel led the Terps to a 27-27 record in 2015 and a berth in the Big Ten Tournament. Lindsey Schmeiser, Shannon Bustillos and Erin Pronobis were earned All-Big Ten accolades under Scott Deifel's watch.
