Major League Baseball
Brett Cecil, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays
Stats: 2-4, 4.50 ERA, 30.0 IP, 34 K, 11 BB, 5 SV
Highlights: Cecil has not given up a run in his last eight appearances dating back to June 21 to drop his ERA to 4.50.
Justin Maxwell, OF, San Francisco Giants
Stats: .216/.268/.373, 24 runs, 24 RBIs, 6 HR.
Highlights: Maxwell has raised his average to .216 and hit a home run against Arizona to power the Giants past the Diamondbacks on July 19.
Double-A
Jimmy Reed, LHP, Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals)
Stats: 6-5, 2.63 ERA, 3 CG, 96.0 IP, 62 SO, 15 BB.
Highlights: After two starts for Triple-A Memphis, Reed settled back in at Springfield, giving up two runs over five innings against Northwest Arkansas. The left-hander boasts 62 strikeouts in 96.0 IP.
Adam Kolarek, LHP, Binghamton Mets (New York Mets)
Stats: 1-1, 4.80 ERA, 45.0 IP, 41 SO, 15 BB, 1 SV.
Highlights: Kolarek has made 33 appearances for Binghamton and opponents are batting .230 against the left-hander. The 26-year old has not given up an earned run in 12 consecutive appearances dating back to June 12.
Single-A
Jake Stinnett, RHP, South Bend Cubs (Full-Season, Chicago Cubs)
Stats: 4-3, 5.00 ERA, 72.0 IP, 51 SO, 43 BB
Highlights: Stinnett picked up his fourth win of the season in his last start against the Lansing Lugnuts, giving up just one run over five innings of work.
Blake Schmit, SS, Cedar Rapids Kernals (Full-Season, Minnesota Twins)
Stats: .226/.355/.339, 8 R, 12 RBIs, 2 2B, 1 HR.
Highlights: Schmit, currently recovering from an injury, notched a multi-hit game on June 8 with two hits and two RBIs.
Kevin Mooney, RHP, Auburn Doubledays (Short-Season, Washington Nationals)
Stats: 0-0, 3.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 2 SO.
Highlights: Mooney has notched consecutive two-inning outings and has given up no earned runs over that stretch.
Rookie League
Kevin Martir, Catcher, Greeneville Astros (Houston Astros)
Stats: .229/.351/.271, 4 R, 9 RBIs, 2 2B, 9 BB.
Highlights: Martir notched a two-hit, two-RBI performance in Greeneville's 6-3 win over Kingsport on July 19. He has hits in three consecutive contests.
LaMonte Wade, OF, Elizabethton Twins (Minnesota Twins)
Stats: .325/.427/.550, 9 R, 17 RBIs, 3 2B, 3 3B, 3 HR, 12 BB.
Highlights: Wade has been on a tear with six multi-hit games in his last 12 contests. He has hit three home runs in that span and raised his average to .325.
Jose Cuas, 3B, Helena Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers)
Stats: .241/.316/.368, 17 R, 16 RBIs, 5 2B, 2 HR.
Highlights: Cuas hit his second career home run on July 18 and has bumped up his average to .241.
Alex Robinson, LHP, Elizabethton Twins (Minnesota Twins)
Stats: 0-2, 9.00 ERA, 5.0 IP, 10 K.
Highlights: Robinson's best outing as a pro came on July 2 against the Greeneville Astros. The 20-year old fanned all six batter he faced in a two inning stint.
Zach Morris, LHP, Golf Coast League Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies)
Stats: 1-0, 4.76 ERA, 5.2 IP, 6 K.
Highlights: Morris has gone consecutive appearances without allowing a run and struck out four in that span.
Jake Drossner, LHP, Helena Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers)
Stats: 0-1, 4.15 ERA, 13.0 IP, 13 K
Highlights: Drossner went four innings and gave up just one earned run while striking out four to earn a no decision against Grand Junction.
