Maryland Shows Well at MSM Duals

EMMITSBURG, Md. - The Maryland women's cross country team entered their first competition of the season at the Mount St. Mary's Duals. Seven teams participated in the event and each team was matched up in a dual scoring system.
While some of the top returning runners trained through this meet, the team still emerged in the middle of the pack, beating three programs in the team scoring system.
Alexa Squirini led the way for the Terps with Katie Nappi right on her heels. Squirini finished the 5k course as the 17th finisher while Nappi crossed the line in 18th place. Karah O'Halloran and Gaby Go were also a tight pack as the team's next two scorers. O'Halloran finished in 29th and Go finished 31st.
Rounding out the scoring was Jackie Clark who completed the course in 39th place.
Kiernan Keller finished in 42nd place and Amanda Ashe was close behind in 51st. Erin Causey (56th place) and Vickie Ajimoko (69th place) finished out the team competitors for the Terps.
Next up will be the Salty Dog Invitational held on Saturday, September 12th at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.
