
#6/5 Maryland Hosts Maryland Eastern Shore

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (1-0) will host Maryland Eastern Shore (1-0) in a midweek matchup Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the XFINITY Center.
All fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears or stuffed animals for the annual Teddy Bear Toss to support College Park Youth & Family Services. Fans are encouraged to register their stuffed animals at the marketing table to have a chance to win a prize.
Tickets are available through the Terrapin Ticket Office at 1-800-IM-A-TERP or umterps.com. Parking is free and open in the lots surrounding the XFINITY Center.
The Terps-River Hawks game will be streamed live on the BTN2Go app, which is the official app of the Big Ten Network. It will be a BTN Plus production and will require an additional subscription. Fans can access all Big Ten content on BTN Plus for $119.95 per year or a $14.95 monthly subscription. A Maryland School Pass for BTN Plus, which includes all Terrapin contests, home and away, on BTN Plus for $79.95 per year or for a $9.95 monthly subscription.
Fans outside of the U.S. will be able to watch here, using their BTN Plus subscriptions.

Freshman Destiny Slocum scored 15 points, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough had 14 points and Maryland breezed by UMass-Lowell 100-44 in its opener Sunday.
The Terrapins entered the season with the nation's top recruiting class, a group that shined in its debut. Freshman Kaila Charles started alongside Slocum and finished with 11 points in 21 minutes. Brianna Fraser had 14 points and Ieshia Small scored 12 for Maryland, which outrebounded UMass-Lowell 52-30.
The Terrapins won last year's meeting at Maryland Eastern Shore, 106-30, on Dec. 20. Walker-Kimbrough led the way with 23 points and Kiara Leslie added 22 off the bench. The Terps shot 67.7 percent (42-62) from the field for the game.
The Terrapins are ranked No. 6 in the preseason Associated Press poll and No. 5 in the USA Today Division I Coaches poll.
After Wednesday's contest, the Terrapins will host Mount St. Mary's (0-1) Friday at 11 a.m. in the Terrapins' Field Trip Day Game. The Terrapins will welcome over 3,000 local elementary school students for the matchup.

The Terrapins offered free admission to all preregistered elementary schools and classes. These classes received free lesson plans aligned with Common Core standards, focusing on numeracy and literacy, while familiarizing students with the game of basketball.
