
#6/5 Maryland Treks to Niagara Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will travel to Niagara (1-2) this weekend for its first road trip of the year. The Terps and the Purple Eagles will play at noon Sunday at Niagara's Gallagher Center.
The matchup will be streamed online through PurpleEagles.com. Live stats will be available and updates will be posted to the Terrapins' Twitter feed.
Maryland used a strong second half effort to beat Mount St. Mary's, 106-42, Friday afternoon in the Terrapins' annual Field Trip Day game at the XFINITY Center.
Brionna Jones had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Terps (3-0) and Ieshia Small finished with 14 points. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Kaila Charles and Jenna Staiti had 10 points apiece for the Terrapins, who shot 58 percent from the field.
This is Maryland third matchup with Niagara and first since 2003. The Terrapins won 68-53 at Niagara on Nov. 24, 2002, during Brenda Frese's first season at Maryland. The Terps won the second meeting, 82-74, in College Park on Nov. 23, 2003.
The Terrapins are ranked No. 6 in the latest Associated Press poll and No. 5 in the USA Today Division I Coaches poll.
After Sunday's contest, the Terrapins will travel to Las Vegas next week to play in the South Point Shootout at the South Point Hotel & Casino. Maryland will play No. 18/16 Arizona State (2-0) Friday at 4 p.m. ET and Washington State (2-0) Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Terps' two games in the South Point Shootout will not be streamed online. Live stats will be available and live updates will be posted to the Terrapins' Twitter feed.
