COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Terp and current Phoenix Suns center Alex Len returned to College Park as the Honorary Captain during Maryland's game against Towson on Sunday.
Len, who is in his fourth year with the Suns, was in town as Phoenix faces the Washington Wizards Monday night at Verizon Center.
Prior to the game, he visited with head coach Mark Turgeon and the team. Len sat courtside with current teammate Dragan Bender, whose brother, Ivan, is a sophomore forward for the Terps.
“It was really great to come back and see Coach Turgeon, the staff and the guys on the team,” Len said. “I really like this young Maryland team. It was also fun to watch with the game with my teammate, Dragan, and watch his brother play too.
Len shared that some of his favorite moments in College Park were beating Duke twice and hitting the game-winner against North Carolina State.
Len is averaging 8.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game for the Suns this season.
