Terps Host FOMB Breakfast Monday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Head coach Mark Turgeon and the Maryland Basketball program hosted its Friends of Maryland Basketball (FOMB) breakfast on Monday morning at the University of Maryland Golf Course.

The one-hour breakfast, with 65 Maryland supporters, featured a question and answer session with Turgeon and opportunity to visit the Terps' coaching staff.  Presentations were also made by Kyle Tarp, director of basketball performance, and Nima Omidvar, director of basketball operations.

Maryland, who reached the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2003 a year ago, is ranked No. 25 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Terps have appeared in the poll for 35 consecutive weeks. Maryland capped the 2015-16 season with a 27-9 overall record, marking the first time in program history the Terps put together back-to-back 27-plus win seasons

During the afternoon Q&A session, Turgeon lauded the tremendous support and energy from Terp fans and spoke about the excitement of the upcoming season.

“You'll like this team. We have some freshmen who are pretty good and who you'll get to know well,” Turgeon said. “I'm excited about Friday night and hope we have a great crowd and atmosphere.”

The Terps will host American in the season opener Friday night at 7 p.m. at XFINITY Center.
