Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio.- Sarah Calta continued her midseason sprint, putting together a magnificent 3-4 outing, including a game-tying triple in the top of the seventh; but in the bottom half Ohio State's Maddy McIntyre hit a two-run walk off home run to give the Buckeyes the 4-3 win.
Alex Bayne cracked her third home run in three innings to give Ohio State a 2-0 lead right off the bat.
The Terrapins brought the bats out and outhit Ohio State 9-3 in the game.
After scoreless frames each way to the fourth, Maryland broke through in the fifth to tie the game. Corey Schwartz led off the inning with her first long ball of the year to put the Terps on the board. Destiney Henderson and Sarah Calta followed with infield singles. Then, Hannah Dewey came through in a clutch spot to score Henderson, tying the game at two.
In the seventh, the Terps top of the order staged a two out surge. Skylynne Ellazar won a twelve-pitch battle, bunting a single to shortstop. Sarah Calta then brought her in with a timely RBI triple to centerfield to give Maryland a 3-2 lead. Calta now leads the Big Ten in triples.
Madison Martin pitched a complete game, only allowing three hits. Two of the three hits were homeruns however, as Maddy McIntyre got a hold of one to win the game by a score of 4-3 for the Buckeyes in the bottom of the seventh.
