
Maryland Athletics Donates Water to Flint, Michigan

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland Athletic Department in partnership with Clifton Park Baptist Church (CPBC) came together over the weekend to donate water to those affected by the water contamination crisis in the Flint, Michigan.
The humanitarian project, led by Associate Athletic Director Kristen Brown, gathered hundreds of cases of water from ICA staff members to help the CPBC meet its goal of 3,000 cases donated. The water was then transported to Flint on Sunday, April 24.
The Flint water crisis has created a series of problems for thousands of residents in the area, as drinking water has become unsafe due to lead contamination. Millions of bottles of water have been donated to the city of Flint, Michigan from corporations, nonprofits, celebrities, professional athletes and concerned citizens alike.
