Box Score COLLEGE PARK, Md.- The Maryland softball team dropped the rubber match against Nebraska by a score of 26-4 on Sunday afternoon at the Maryland Softball Stadium.
Maryland threw four pitchers: Madison Martin, Hannah Dewey, Brenna Nation, and Sami Main.
The Huskers scored two in the first, eleven in the second, eight in the third, four in the fourth, and one in the fifth for a total of 26.
Kylie Datil led the Terps from the plate, going 1-3 with a two-run home run in the third inning. Datil also made a fantastic diving catch in the outfield.
The Terrapins also picked up a run in each the first and second inning. In the first, three straight two out walks, including a RBI bases-loaded free base by Hannah Dewey put one on the board. In the second, Sarah Calta scored on Husker error forced by a towering Skylynne Ellazar fly.
It'll be a short turnaround for the Terrapins; St. Francis (PA) comes to town on Tuesday for an afternoon doubleheader. Game one will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Maryland Softball Stadium.
