Harris, Kocher Finish Season at NCAA Regionals

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Senior Tom Harris and sophomore David Kocher of the Maryland men's golf team finished the season Wednesday at NCAA Regionals at the Ol' Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Kocher finished in the top 25 in the Tuscaloosa Regional. He earned a combined score of 220 (75-69-76), which was four over par total.

Harris finished with a combined score of 237 (81-79-77).

“I'm proud of both Tom and David,” head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. “Both guys had a great year for us. It's a bit bittersweet for me seeing Tom graduate. He was my first recruit and we were fortunate to have him. We're looking forward to next fall, we continue to improve and it's an obvious goal to get the entire team in the NCAA tournament.

Harris played in all but one tournament over his four-year career at Maryland. He earned his first career collegiate individual win at the Janney VCU Shootout last September. He tied for first at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in April.

The Terrapins earned their first team win since 2010 this season. They also finished third in the Big Ten Tournament last month for their highest conference tournament finish in 30 years.
