
Big Ten Releases Terps? Home/Away Opponents

COLLEGE PARK Md. – The Big Ten Conference announced the Maryland women's basketball team's home and away conference games for the 2016-17 season Monday morning.
Dates and times of these games will be announced at a later date.
The Terps are scheduled to host Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconin.
Maryland will travel to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State and Purdue. The Terrapins will take on Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota twice in the regular season.
In the two years since joining the Big Ten, the Terrapins are 34-2 (.944) in conference play. They won their second straight Big Ten regular season and tournament titles this past season.
Maryland is 52-6 (.897) against Big Ten teams in the 14 years under head coach Brenda Frese. The Terps are also 22-3 (.880) all-time vs. Big Ten opponents in the XFINITY Center.
The Terrapins earned an overall record of 31-4 this season and 16-2 in conference matchups. Returners Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough earned All-Big Ten First Team honors and WBCA Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Maryland welcomes the No. 1 freshman class for the upcoming season, including three McDonald's All-Americans in Kaila Charles, Destiny Slocum and Blair Watson. The Terrapins will also add Stephanie Jones, Sarah Myers, Jenna Staiti and transfer Ieshia Small to the lineup.
