
Terps Head to Philadelphia for Cissie Leary Invite

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women's tennis team will be on the road again this weekend for the 20th Annual Cissie Leary Invitational in Philadelphia.
Along with host Penn, Princeton, Cornell, William and Mary, Yale, Columbia, Delaware, St. Johns, Drexel, and Big Ten rival Penn State will be participating.
There will be three flights of singles play. Each player is guaranteed to play three singles and two doubles matches with a back draw for each bracket as well as a second back draw for singles players who lose in the second round of their flight.
The Terps have had a lot of success in their fall season. Maryland dominated its opening weekend, with Caroline Williams and Arnelle Sullivan pairing up to win the doubles tournament at the Bedford Cup. Freshmen Saya Usui and Katsiaryna Yemelyanenka also teamed up in their collegiate debuts to win the doubles bracket at the Tribe Invitational.
Play in Philadelphia will kick-off at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning with the first two rounds of the singles and doubles tournaments and conclude on Sunday afternoon with the semi-finals and finals of the singles competition.
