Kassidy Cross is set for her first season with the Terps after a successful prep career at nearby Northern High School. She won a 3A Maryland State Championship with the Patriots, and was a two-time Calvert County Player of the Year selection. Get to know Kassidy Cross.
How was your first semester at Maryland?
My first semester at Maryland was everything I hoped and more. I was able to really understand what Maryland is all about both inside and outside of softball and its fabulous.
What attracted you to the University of Maryland?
My dad played baseball at school here in the 80's and always talked about his experience here and I never really thought I'd get the opportunity to play here and the fact that I get to represent my home state is even better.
What is your favorite memory from playing softball?
My freshmen year of high school I made Varsity and we were National Champions that year and continuing our state championship record through my junior year of high school.
How has it been getting to know your teammates?
I have had the best time getting to know everyone. I was shy at first, but it took less than two weeks I'd say for them to get to know me and me to know them.
Are you a good cook, what's your favorite thing to make?
I'm an okay cook but I make a good grilled cheese :)
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I think my favorite thing about myself is my enthusiasm in mostly everything I do. I'm a very outgoing person.
What is the best vacation you have ever been on?
The best vacation I've ever been on was two years ago my whole family went to Punta Cana for a Christmas Vacation.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Gum…and money. But mostly gum.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Watch the back of my eyelids.
