
Dobbie Named to Canada’s World Cup Roster

OTTAWA, Ontario – Former Maryland women's lacrosse standout Dana Dobbie was selected to Canada's 18-player roster for this summer's FIL Women's World Cup, the Canadian Lacrosse Association announced Thursday.
A 2008 graduate of Maryland, Dobbie competed for Canada in the 2009 and 2013 World Cups and is one of the leaders on this year's squad. She helped Canada to a bronze medal in 2009 and a silver medal in 2013. Dobbie is currently an assistant coach at Loyola.
Last week, six Terps were selected to represent Team USA at this year's World Cup, including Alex Aust '13, Brooke Griffin '15, Taylor Cummings '16, Katie Schwarzmann '13, Megan Douty '15 and Alice Mercer '16.
The Australian National Team has also finalized their World Cup roster. Maryland is represented by Courtney Hobbs '02, Sarah Mollison '11 and current Terp senior Theo Kwas.
The FIL Women's World Cup, which occurs every four years, will take place in Guildford, England, from July 12-22.
Including this year's selections, Maryland has had 32 Terps compete in FIL World Cups.
