
#2 Terps Set for Spartans Sunday on ESPN2

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The second-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (24-1, 12-0 B1G) will play at Michigan State (16-8, 6-5) Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The Terps-Spartans matchup can also be seen on WatchESPN.com and the Watch ESPN app.

At 24-1, the Terps are off to the best start in school history. The Terrapins are ranked No. 2 in the Coaches poll. They were last in the top two of the Coaches poll on Jan. 8, 2007 when they held the top spot.
This is the ninth meeting between Maryland and Michigan State, with the Terps winning all eight previous matchups. Most recently, the Terps won 60-44, in the Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis on March 6 last year. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 19 points with 10 boards and Brionna Jones added 10 points and 14 boards.
The Terps rolled past Illinois, 84-59, Thursday in College Park. Walker-Kimbrough pitched in a season-high 29 points with 6 assists and 5 boards. Kaila Charles socred 16 points and Destiny Slocum dished a career-high 13 assists. Jones notched her 50th career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Walker-Kimbrough is No. 5 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,934 career points, recently passing Vicky Bullett (1,928). She is No. 10 among Division I active scorers. Walker-Kimbrough's career three-point percentage of 44.7% is currently the best in Maryland history ahead of Kristi Toliver's career percentage of 40.8%.
Jones is No. 4 on Maryland's rebounding list with 1,090 career boards, recently passing Tianna Hawkins (1,086). She is No. 8 on Maryland's scoring list with 1,703 points and is No. 20 among Division I active scorers. She currently leads the Big Ten with 17 double-doubles this year.
Slocum's 148 assists this year topped Kristi Toliver's 145 as a freshman in 2005-06. The freshman record for assists is 171 by Dara Taylor (171). Slocum also needs to make seven threes to top the freshman record of 59 set by Toliver.
Jones is leading the country in field goal percentage (69.2%) for the second straight year. The Terrapins lead the country in scoring (90.1) and are No. 2 in field goal percentage (.506) and rebounding margin (+16.4). They are third in scoring margin (+27.7) and fourth in assists (20.7).
In Big Ten play, Slocum is leading the league in assists with 7.7 per game and Jones is leading in rebounding (11.2). Slocum is No. 3 among all league freshmen in scoring (11.3). Charles is tied for fifth among Big Ten freshmen in scoring (10.0), tied for first in rebounding (5.5) and in offensive rebounds (2.5). Kristen Confroy leads the league in assist/turnover ratio (3.2).
The jerseys of Jones and Walker-Kimbrough will be honored in the rafters of the XFINITY Center immediately after the Terrapins' Senior Day game on Feb. 26. Both have earned First Team All-Big Ten Honors, as well as Associated Press and WBCA Honorable Mention All-America honors. They've led the Terrapins to two Final Fours, two conference tournament titles and two conference regular season crowns. They have earned a record of 117-15 (.886) overall and a record of 62-5 (.925) at home at the XFINITY Center.
